- In the research proposal, pick out a very specific research question that can be described in one to two sentences.
- In the research proposal, include a specific time line of how you will carry out the research
- In the research proposal, explain how doing this research will help you in the future and how your individual research will contribute to the overall field and you future
- Make sure that your project is doable within the time line set
- Have a few people review your application, not dozens of people
- Consult other Fulbright winners as your write your application
- Make your personal statement unique, tell a story
- Check to make sure your are following the guidelines set out by IIE
